Hany Shaker Delivers For The Fallen

What an artist to do without his voice, the Prince of Arabic music and iconic Egyptian singer Hany Shaker sings for love, romance and mostly heartache. But ever since the Egyptian revolution Hany Shaker has been singing for Egypt. It's true the singer has two voices, the one he uses to earn a living and the one he uses to channel his frustration and personal narrative.

Hany uses his second voice for this song, he celebrates the fallen the more than 350, men and women have been killed as a result of direct orders of the Ministry of Interior and the Mubarak regime. I can hear the energy and the passion behind Hany's voice, he sounds like a true believer. Not a single Egyptian says a bad word about the brave fallen. We are all agree they are the true hero for the change in Egypt.

This is a slideshow like dozens of other songs, becasue the pictures and the footage are the stars of such work to remind people of the moments that rocked the world. This is a tribute for the fallen, their mothers, justice, the people, the Tahrir Square protesters and most of all Egypt. I think Hany just has released his best song in the past three years. And with that he has just made the case for why we need this voice that we have grown to love and relate to.

The lyrics are the work of the Palestinian poet Ramy Yousef, Hany Shaker put the music for the song with Adel Ayish doing the musical arrangement.
