Elections in Egypt are drawn closer and things are getting interesting as the campaigns are at full swing, this should be exciting to watch, the results might be scary. But in all honest, this is politics, there are no conspiracies just business as usual. Now, music has its part as well. When the candidate searches for a simple way to connect with simple voters, they look for music. I have worked hard to curate those pictures from all campaigns, weel, the ones who have an online presence anyway.
Most songs are recorded in Sh'abi style, but there are many pop-ish songs and at least one rap songs. However, Islamist candidates tend to play down the music in favor of better lyrics. Morsi's song is performed by children to avoid getting in argument of weather music is Halal or not. Another observation, those songs are not going to win any artistic awards, they are often done in a rush. Last thing, these songs all mention the name of the candidate, they do not imply it, they just spell is out and tell you up front.
Ahmed Shafik, the most youth and activists love to hate. He has some support among the communities who have done well during the Mubarak years and few in the army establishment. احلي اغنية شعبي في حب الفريق احمد شفيق
