At 78! Happy Birthday Shadia, We Love You!

Shadia, Shadya forever will be known as the cute singer that sings while she acts and acts in her songs. This formula made top dollars at he box office in Egyptian cinema in the 70s. Shadia was a box office sensation that even the big name stars chased after her to appear in their movies. Today is the day she was born 78 years ago.

Shadia has quit the business but her best lines and songs are still with many of us. Shadia has a lot of competition but she won all their hearts. She has been endorsed by Oum Kalthoum herself. Shadia was the first Egyptian star to mange to both act and sing in such a natural and convincing manner. While many Arab singers Farid Al Atrach, Abedel Halim, Sabah have acted in movies, they were singers to the core. Shadia was an actress too.

In the span of her 40 years career, she has appeared in 112 films, 10 radio plays and dramas. Hundreds of songs out there been performed by Shadia, making up the most lovable collection of Arabic songs that are really hard to replicate.
