Mohammed Mohsen, Making Egyptian Music Like It's 1950

What a breath of fresh air is the songs of Egyptian singer Mohammed Mohsen. Egypt has not seen these kinds of songs in ages. Tales of the people in the country with all the minute details that speaks volumes of the simplicity and the joy living with less brings.

While most young musicians in Egypt, race to do songs about the love of country. Mohsen looked the other way, and sang for the country but minus the politics and activism. I find that to be refreshing and perhaps most effective in helping bring unit to the people.

His sweet voice, and all Egyptian spirit qualifies him to narrate such stories that reminds people of the not distant past. We have written about him once before. But I do not think having so much excitement about a new singer who sounds really old--the good old.
