Some Egyptians are weird about female performing, but most welcome this art and have been fans of ladies singing since the dawn of time. Take two of those indie ladies who performed a song live in a night of music with a lot of indie musicians all over town.
Dina El Wididi and Mariam Saleh took on the stage accompanied ed by minimalist music and performed sad wedding song, what makes those two ladies different is their ability to make their own music, not just look cute and perform what some guy give them.
The song might feel like the blues, but it has its forte moments. I am seeing more and more indie ladies breaking out in the indie music scene. Which is a very welcome move
