Iraq: The Other Arabian Music Oasis

Looking at nowadays Iraq one cannot help but feel saddened for the ongoing crisis in this beloved Arab country. If it was not for the political instability and the brutal dictators that have ruled Iraq throughout its history, this land could have been another power center in the Arab world.

They have the ancient history that can rival that of Egypt's, they have the educational centers that are both deeply rooted in history and entrenched in the future. Not just that, the people of Iraq really love their land too and most of all they have culture.

The music of Iraq once was huge, and once was coveted in all corners of the world, thanks to the many legends who have given all they had. They have the historical dept of traditional music and to a large extent such music still makes an influence on many working stars in Arabia.

Iraqi would not have its amazing age of music without the lute and other Eastern instruments played in places like Turkey, Spain and Syria. Ask your grandfather and maybe his father, they will tell you how true this is....for few more info on some of those iconic singers please visit this link
