Thanks to Yasmeen, Egyptian Pop is not Dead

I tell you what Yasmeen is not, she is not an A list singer, she is not one of those cookie cutter pop princes that acts like a mouth piece and relies heavily on her looks. She is not any of that. She is the Egyptian answer to the American singer Pink. She is proud of her being a woman, but she is also a lot more complex than that. She has a great voice and a fun pop persona that draws people to her.

Yasmeen has one sole album in her career, released about three years ago, it generated good sales and make a name for Yasmeen. Who just released two fun singles within 48 hours of each release. That's some cool marketing and a lot of fun for radio listeners who got to enjoy those songs.

The cassette market in Egypt is down just like many aspects of this beloved country, but that does not mean, Egyptians are not making good music, they are. The concert market is back in Egypt in full swing. I have included the two songs in this below, enjoy some artsy pop music with a hint of techno.

ياسمين 2011 - فهمني حكايتك ايه || النسخة الاصلية || Yasmine 2011

ياسمين 2011 - الحب الي محدش عرفه || Yasmine 2011 - El-Hob Elly Ma7desh 3erfo
