Esam Karika Most Love His Tunes, Not His Songs

Esam Karika was the only and the first Egyptian singer to wear a bandana on his head. This was he was the coolest Egyptian dude, but long before he was a singer, he was a well established composer giving some of his tunes to names like Amr Diab and all those Lebanese singers too. So he is not naive as you may think, he knows the business and has been around for a decade now.

So when you have worked with Amr Diab, you need no intro, you kind of cool right away. So the moment Essam Karika wanted a little bit more, we knew this could be good. His lyrics often made little sense (What's bolika? shankoty), he in purpose uses http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifword that no one knows. Some of them have made it big in the local music scene in Egypt, but outside of Egypt they sounds bizarre.

This Ramadan he has a fun show on TV where he talked about his foray into the business side of the music. I thought it was a light hearted show with some humor and speicla guests and comments from Essam's friends in the business. Now see this music video that seems to be just strange. It's made like those sleazy rapper music videos.

Essam might think he is the "it" boy wonder of Arabic music, but I hope he does not think he is good looking becasue he is not. See how many disliked it and how many likes it got. Essam please stick to doing good tunes, and leave singing for others. Sure, you can sing everyone and then if you think you got a hit.
