Mohamed Mounir On His Country of Ladies

Mohamed Mounir looks harder than any other Egyptian singer for new material. He takes the lyrics wherever he finds them, he does not limit himself to household names that often make good safe material that can be dated, but it's still safe.

Droves of young lyricists would love to give their words to Mounir as he is the voice that can tell those stories. And I think Mounir has found a lot of success in doing such songs. He is different in his music, he gets inspirations from the West and from the local people of Southern Egypt and Northern Sudan.

In this 2005 concert of his, he rocked the place with his song Banat, ladies, girls of young women....it's a song that does not come everyday. Notices how good Mounir at engaging the audience, and he connected he is to his band--they are part of the show, not just extras.
