in 2010 Arabic music did well, more than 100 album was released and more than 500 music videos were aired. But in 2010 we lost two figures both from Lebanon and both died as a result of an accident. Both tragic deaths and both came as a shock to many of us, as those two figures are so young who have promising careers ahead of them.

The first to lose is Star Academy contestant, the Charismatic Ramy Al Shamali, the young singer from Lebanon known for his warm voice and being loved by his peers on the show. He passed away in a car accident along with her follow contestant and friend from Egypt Mahmud Shoukry who was in the car with Rami at the time of the accident. Mahmud suffered a lot in the accident, but recovered just fine. Rami will be missed by those who known him best especially his mother who loved her little boy so much. Read More Here

The second star we lost few weeks ago is Yehya Saade, the energetic and prolific music video director who passed away in Turkey as a result of an electric shock on the set on Lebanese pop icon and celebrity Maya Diab. The director that made the career of a half a dozen of Arab pop princess was gone this year. This was a big shock as the story of his death is so shocking on so many levels. Tragedy is all around.

  1. Thank you for this great article and reminding everyone of those who we lost in 2010. Ramy was on the first steps of stardom and Yehya was arguably at the peak of his career. What a great loss!
