Marwa Nasr Extends Her Hand with Olive Branch

Egyptian Marwa Nasr wasted no time, she got to work once she heard about the brutal bombing of the Alexandria Church in Egypt. she went into the studio and recorded a song, four days later comes the music video that borrows its story from the Egyptian movie Hassan We Murkus about Muslim and Christians living alongside each other.

The movie was a comedy staring Adel Imam and Omar Sharif, but it delivered some crucial messages that often get missed. While no one is laughing now at the bombing in Egypt, the movie's massage is this, we need to stand united and not get distracted by the few with violent tendencies. People have the right to be angry, what happened is not to be taking lightly, but we cannot just follow our knee jerk reactions.

I think opening the clip or call it slide show with the speech by the Egyptian president reminds me why he was able to maintained power for 30 years now. He delivered a timely massage that bring people together and he did it so passion and convictions. Marwa Nasr delivered this song that has meaningful lyrics that bring the best in people and remind them that at the end of the day, we are all living on the same land and we have to deal with each other.
