Shaza, Egyptian singer can act, we know this because she got her first acting role when she was 5 years old. This is not Shaza Hassoun, the Iraqi Moroccan hybrid singer. She now makes movies now. light comedy mushed with romance that appeal to young movie goers. She released an album earlier this year and she appeared in a number of concerts around Egypt.
In this clip Shaza delivers one of those rare convincing performances a singer can muster when singing a sad song about life one had. Shaza has the voice of an angel, and her other gift is her expressions in this clip as she manages to transfers her energy and loss to you the viewer. Very fes Arab entertainers can do that. Arabs love dramatic songs and love more the performance that goes with it. This is due to the breakups and lost loves in one's life, songs like this help us cope with breakups and one sided love.
I am now beginning to think that this song has to be performed by an older singer as Shaza is still young and lacks perspective on leading a poor life or having a tough life to reflect upon in this song that makes you want to take a trip down memory lane. But ultimately, I give Shaza an A for her performance of this very very intense dose of sad reality.
