Halima Photo Op With The Tyrant of Tripoli

Few years ago, I wrote a piece on Halima Boland (Boland Blows (Her Own Horn)), the Kuwaiti media personality. Now something else comes to mind, this charismatic and popular TV personality paid a visit more than two years ago to the Tyrant of Tripoli, I refer to Mr. Qaddafi of course.

Some Kuwaiti publications as well as Libyan ones are calling on Halima to distant herself from the dictator and comment on the ongoing situation in Libya. At the time of the visit, Halima said the meeting was great and she has a good conversation with Qaddafi who asked her about her work and the Kuwaiti Parliament.

Halima is now in deep hot water as the Dictator has instructed his cronies to attack the Embassy of Kuwait and ripping the Kuwaiti flag the flag. As more news of the dictator;'s involvement in murder, terrorism and assassination plots Halima has a lot to lose. Unlike many other personalities and entertainers who have made visits to Libya they never bragged about it, Halima did actually issues a press release about the meeting and distributed this image.

I do not envy Halima for this situation, she means well I am sure. Taking a picture with this guy is not an endorsement, it's just too much fun to have a picture with him. I will take one picture with him if I saw him and then I will make fun of him afterward.
