On Tuesday March 15th 2011, the man behind the most famous Tunisian song passed away in his home. The man who started his career singing at wedding, parties and male circumcision celebrations will write the most famous song to come from Tunis.
Tunisian musician Ahmad Hamaza (1932-2011)He studied at the French Tunisian school but quit to help his father provide for the family. This young man will go on and pursue a career in music where he would perform the most famous song from the land of Jasmine. Jary Ya 7amoodah, the song that is more famous than its author. Ahmad Hamza collaborated with famed entertainers of the like of Mohamd Abel Wahab, Farid Al Atrash and Mohammad Fawzy.
A large cast of Arab singers will perform this song the first to take it is Tunisian singer 3alya2, more recent versions have been recorded by Laura Khalil, the Lebanese pop singer. and Syrian Rouwaida Atteih.
