Checkout this music video from Syrian singer Rouwaida Atteih whose voice is like taking a trip on a time machine to the good old days where music used to celebrate good meanings, and make people's life better by uplifting their spirit.

Rouwaida Atteih is one of those singers that you do not hear their stuff on the radio, you go and listen to her becasue she moves you and connects with you. She is not pop, she has a brain and she is not short on good looks.

I came across this older music video of hers, that actually seems to be timely now as Arab governments collapse one after another. the song is about changing, dreaming of a better future...and the children will build it with love. This is a subtle message to the Arab people. It did not come as a reactionary song. It was released long before the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, Libyan, Yemen, Jordan and other places.

This is a very mature song from a very young singer who has their heart in the right place. she calls out those who make empty promises of standing for change, when in face they change nothing--she means the politicians of course. This might as well be a call for Arab unity without getting into politics...it's about making life better for the generations to come.
