Zubin Mehta Can Care Less About Human Rights

Zubin Mehta, a gifted composer of Parsi family that was born in India has toured the world with a number of Philharmonic Orchestras. He has being making beautiful music for half a century. He composed music in England, America, Germany, Italy and that other country Israel.

So when the iconic composer was receiving his star on the walk of fame in Hollywood California, there were his friends and fans from all around. But there were a number of protesters who held singes and called out Zubin Mehta on his harmonization efforts with Israel--the country that has a record of human rights abuse and violations, but people like Mr. Mehta like to dismiss.

During Tuesday's concert, protesters greeted the conductor and the Israel Philharmonic outside Disney Hall, holding signs that read "Don't Harmonize with Apartheid" and "Boycott Israel." The concert was intended to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mehta's debut in Tel Aviv and the 75th anniversary of the orchestra.
