How to make a legendary diva star in a music, preserve her legacy and reintroduce her. This was the challenge Egyptian director Sandra had to deal with in her work to direct Warda, the Algerian diva.
The song from the latest music video for Warda, released two months ago. To her credit Warda still looks stunning and her voice can still outshine a pack of those hall singers. This music video is about Warda and her past. She is not falling in love with some 20 something guy.
Instead she is revisiting her old flame, her ex who has left her for a younger woman. Warda is still holding the castle with her beautiful children and grandchildren. She is still looking gorgeous and the old man seems to be regretting the moment he has left her.
This is an old school song for the mature among us who strive for originality and the good old days or at least the thought of them. Warda and Rotana did well by choosing this song to film. The song presents Warda in a new light--she has recently confessed she has no luck with me or she married the wrong guys. This is a plus
