What's missing form those nice songs about Egypt are the songs by female voices, I have yet to see new love song for Egypt covered by a female voice. You get zilch, nothing. Why that is? All the love songs have been released about Egypt after Mubarak stepped down were recorded by dudes, where are the ladies? Where are you Amal Maher? Omnia Soliman? Sherine anyone out there? I only heard a one minute song from Angham.
The newest to join the line of composers turned singers is Nader Nour, the guy who some people think is handsome--I might have been living in the States too long. Recorded a song about how Egypt is for the world, not just the people of Egypt. In this song he says he wishes to die on its land, yeah maybe so but he wasn't willing to protest in Tahrir or elsewhere. An average song that calls on all Egyptians to guard their mosques, churches, buildings and schools.
Nader Nour Mesh Baladna Lewahdna نادر نور مش بلدنا لوحدنا
Hani Shaker, the fixture of Egyptian and romantic music has returned from his hiding and releasing a song for Egypt, where he is asking his country men to be one hand in building. The only think I like about this song is the voice of the singer, the lyrics are tired. and the sideshow is average.
Hani Shaker "One Hand" Eed Wa7da هاني شاكر - ايد وحدة
The guy who sang for the president took his song and turned it around, removed the president and made the sone for the revolution, even though the same song two weeks ago meant to suck up to the president. Mohammad Nour is in my bad side and I did not think he was this careless about his fans. Strange times, when the brown nosing sissy turns around to claim to be revolutionary after the winds shifted that is.
Mohamed Nour - Ha'ek Aleina / محمد نور - حقك علينا
This is a party song, the voice is not living up to the beat of the song. Some amazing footage and party pictures form Egypt. Nothing special in those lyrics. Sure good to have a song for Egypt, but they are becoming a dozen a dime now. Where were all these artists when the revolution needed them the most in the darkest hour. Why do they get to claim victory when the real hero has either been killed, imprisoned, hurt or insulted.
Zain Dawood - Ehna Ibtadina / زين داوود - احنا ابتدينا
