Hona El Qahera - Nawal Al Zoghbi 2011 Wins Big

Few days prior to January 25th 2011, the album of Nawal Al Zoghhbi was leaked and it was already being memorized by the fans even before the album was officially released. But then January 25th happened and 19 days later Cairo was different under a new future and the city of Arab love feels liberated.

Now the song Hona El Qahera feels a lot more important that it did when it was recorded a year ago. It's a long song from a lover who is enjoying their time with their loved one who happens to be Egyptians as both of they are taking a stroll down the Nile river and enjoying the simple things, a grilled sweet corn and an extra dark cup of tea "Khamseenah"

It's a very sweet song that has been embraced by Cairo, as the young men and women started to clean their city and volunteer to make is beautiful once more, Nawal song counting the virtues of Egypt and Cairo provides the sound track for this new age. Written by Egyptian lyricists Ameer Ta'eemah who alone can capture that mystique Cairo feel, given to Nawal whose voice and charm can make this song delight. I think Nawal has hit it it big with this song that will be played in Cairo over and over again.

I will say this, Hona El Qahera is the song that makes that historic Egyptian city the New York and Paris of the Middle East. This is a song about Cario where politcis never comes up, just love and romance. The fact that this is a love song performed by an artist who has just been divorced makes it a very powerful one indeed.

Hona El Qahera - Nawal Al Zoghbi "Unofficial"
