Say, Najat Al Saghira and chances any Arab woman will think happy thoughts and think of the good times when she heard the warm and dreamy voice of this iconic Egyptian singer--she is the sister of Soad Hosny, another iconic Egyptian entertainer. Her brother is a violin player who used to work with Oum Kalthoum. When she was 19 her father commissioned her brother to train her on Oum Kalthoum songs.

When she made is big, she Najat did not surround herself by dancers and musicians, instead she kept the company of educated and intellectual people of her time. She has worked on a dozen of movies and often she sang in those movies. those songs lived on to become a classics in the Arabic library.
