The 1967 Defeat Had This Heartwarming Song

For Egypt and most of the Arab world, 1967 was a brutal year. Israel attacked and the armies were taken a nap at the time. They lost bit, many heroes were murdered, Israel stole yet more land. And the people were helpless  They felt like they were choking and no one came to their rescue.

Balgih Hamdi, one of the most recognizable Arab composers composed a song which Abdel Halim Hafiz sang about that very event. The song was supposed to offer hope. As time passes and the dark leaves, the morning arrives as if tomorrow will be better. The song helped many find comfort in light o the defeat and the horrible national embarrassment.

People needed to heal and that song helped in the process.
