Assi Hillani in Better Days

The 90s, life was simple, no Facebook, no smart phones, no globalization. And Assi Hilani was working hard to make good music. Here is his second hit song, Ya nakir Al Marouf, "The Ungrateful One" about a girl he picks from the streets and makes into some gorgeous model.

A great song by all means, but to pretend that a young man takes a hot women off the streets because he has a soft spot in his heart for helping people is just naive. He helped her because she is hot, they are both using each other.

What happened to songs like these? Assi has a hard time finding new material to sing? He really used to rule the music scene, the man of the hour. But I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles....some get the spotlight for some of the time...others are meant to get it back.
