When is Comes to Syria, Assi Should Zip It

Lebanese singer Assi Hallani can sing, act and make you feel like a million dollar, he can do romance, dance and entertain you wherever you are. But when it comes to politics and Syrian in particular he should be silent. For one thing he is not Syrian for another he is in the minority.

Releasing more than half a dozen pro Assad songs does not help anyone. Assi, this is an old technique that does not work in YouTube age and Facebook generation. We all know the truth so your song will change little. I know in the past you have sang for King Abdelallah of Saudi Arabia, and Qaddafi in Libya.

I like you as a singer, but you are no leader. When people like you go to Syria, they are welcome and never have to see corruption or violence. But when many go home, they are thrown into jail and intimidated. Like if they are of a lesser kind. So Assi stop making songs called Assad the preserver of Syria, he is not doing that. He is the preserver of his regime.
