Yasmeen Niazy released an album back in 2007 and it was one of those treats that you love, but have never seen coming. It was an album made by a chick about things only chicks would know. And therefore the dudes tuned in to hear what this funky gal has to say in her music.
Forward to 2011 when the singer released a number of singles to drum up the support for her album, and now the album gets dropped. It has some of the finest lyrics as the A team of composers and lyricists lent a hand to Yasmeen's new album. She is a star and her concerts are a best judge of that.
When an album has only 8 tracks, you know it has to be good, meaning it would be easy to make a 12 track album, but most of those songs would go to waste, some songs are made to be thrown away. But I think none of that applies to Yasmeen's new album.
The album was made of simple yet hip catchy phrases, Rotana--the company that has been accused of neglecting Egyptian talents has produced this album and had even hosted a launch part for the album.
01.Hobak Amel Saytara, dancey upbeat song with meaningful lyrics. Pink be jealous
02.Ekdeb Alaya, cool music meet girly song that offers pride and self respect.
03.Salamat Ya Hawa, a realist love song, slower melody, allowing Yasmeen's voice to shine
04.Nehayty Maak, slow song about the end of the road in any given relationship, sweet and romantic when love ceases to exit.
05.Khaliha Ala Allah, back to funk and dance pop, this is song schools all those boys who like to fool around.
06.Enzelly Taht, funny lyrics about a girl that knows what she wants and bosses the guy who she loves. Usually it would be a guy singing this song.
07.Baqalak Mudda, the lyrics make this song a winner, the guy makes a mistake and he is back to apologize. She says so long now. I like this one about playing in the stoppage time.
08.Ya Mestaqwy, slow beat, a song about the the kind of love that hurts. Mature, dark and sweet, you figure out how Yasmeen does it.
