The Lebanese singer turned actress has been welcomed into Egypt and has been offered a number of roles in commercially successful movies. Nicole has also showed some serious talent and thus it was a comfortable arrangement for both parties. Nicole has done well and even her songs tend to be on the Egyptian dialect which is always good.
Nicole has a home in Egypt and spends a great deal of her time over there, but then that changed few days ago. When the demonstration broke, she stayed in Egypt for few days, but then things started getting heated and since Nicole was all home alone and did not have access to the internet and cellphone services just like the rest of the people of Egypt.
Nicole headed back to Lebanon to feel safe, she says that she would not have done it, but things got out of control and she needed to get away. I think Nicole made the right decision and I do not think anyone will think less of her.
Mai Selim, the Jordanian native who is a singer turned actress has called off her wedding which was supposed to take place on February 14th of this year. Mai is a popular figure in Egypt and she calls it her second home away form home. Mai who will be marrying an Egyptian business man reach that conclusion to be in solidarity with the fallen Egyptian men and women who resisted the regime.
The quote from Mai Selim, "How can I be happy when the people of Egypt are bleeding", so she either have a big heart or an amazing PR team. I think Mai did the right thing here. She and her husband deserve some credit for being sensitive and we hope they will get to tie the knot soon.
