If you want to unite the people of Egypt all you need to do is bring up tow subjects, country and God. That's why Mohamed Tharwat song Masretna has been around for ages and it will be because it hits all the right subjects. Mohamed Tharwat is not a well knowns singer outside the borders of Egypt, he is inactive in terms of releasing albums, but he seems to have taking interest in private parties. He also seems to have become a pious figure as some of his music suggest. But he is making a comeback by commenting on the current stand off between the government and the people.
Mohamed Tharwat enjoys both a strong and warm voice making him a great candidate to sing nationalistic and religious songs in that sense has done well. I particularly like this song of his because it makes you proud of Egypt. He praises the history of Egypt, the founding fathers, and the Egyptians will.
He appeals to the people of Egypt that the country is something they ought to take care of and preserve because it has been entrusted to them where they must make sacrifices to preserve. He also prays that the Lord will protect this land. This is an older song, but it comes in timely in the wake of the January 25th 2010 crisis. It kind of plays like a country song, but I enjoy it nevertheless
