Egyptian Hamaki Has a Word for the Fallen

Mohammad Hamaki, the top dude of Egyptian pop played safe and did not make his stands known about the protests. He simply stayed home and he said something on Facebook that can be interpreted he was unhappy about something, but it was vague.

In the 11th hour of the revolution he came out and declared his support to the protest in Tahrir Square and the Jan 25th protest. But now that the dust has cleared and everyone knows what the deal is with the departure of the regime, Hamaki released a song to commemorate the occasion. He celebrates the people, and their dreams. Hamaki does not forget to praise the fallen who have died to bring this cause to life and give it momentum. I like the fact that Hamaki talks about the young age of those who have been killed.

Hamaki talks about the familiarly of those faces of the protesters that he aligns himself with them as a follow Egyptian who wanted to change things, and they did. He also highlights the young ages of the protesters and their resilience in their quest for a better life. Hamaki might not have taken part of the demonstrations, but now he is ready to give the fallen a voice.
