Tamer Ashour, the Egyptian composer turned singer knows what he is good at and sticks to it. He has a broad fan base of mostly guys who have a good sense of style and enjoy songs about mature subjects and music that goes well with it. Tamer has proven himself to be a strong voice with specialty in sadder songs and darker subjects that most Egyptian music can take now. Leya Nazra is the latest album from Tamer Ashour is here, but not officially in what's shaping to be a tough music market in 2011 due to the political climate in most Arab countries. 01. Akher Mo2ablah, it's a dramatic song made great by the artists delicate vocals, Tamer is at his best when he tells a breakup story and he does a well job describing those moments. This song is about what could have happened if everything went your way, some like to know.
02. Bait Kebeer, feeling alone, missing your ex or just sad about your long distance relationship, your one true love the one that have you commit everything. This is the song for passionate lovers who are helpless romantics and have a lot to give.
03. Ha2dar, this is the move on song, "Yes, I can and Yes, I will" this is the Tamer take on "
I Will Survive" song. A song to show you are grown up and have learned your lesson, making you appreciate the next thing, and life always goes on.
04. Howa Ana Bastaslem, a refreshing beat, and a wonderful intro, a change in Tamer Ashour style, love the dialogue delivery. It's a song that leaves an impression with you and keeps you tuned in till the end. The title is awesome, and the music is clearly Egyptian. A winner that adds to the artist career.
05. Leya Nazra, the title song, a fighting song that was released as a single last year. I like the varying vocals and noted in this song. A good topic made fresh by the lyrics and the style, making it a perfect breakup song. I really enjoyed the upbeat music and Ashour's choice.
06. Mabthazesh, the saddest and most dramatic song on the album, Ashour seems broken and defeated, he has no fighting words here. He is appealing to his loved one for mercy. While he sounds like a defeated lover, he still have the wisdom to defend his loved one in the face of the rumors about her/his lack of interest in the artist.
07. Mafehosh Ghalta, creative music collaboration is clear on this track. It plays like a club mix meant for those who like to shake it. It's still trouble in paradise topic, not everything is going well, but sometimes it takes a lot of energy to channel frustration. The title of this song however has been used a month ago in Mohammad Kelany new album.
08. Mestabye3, opens like a generic pop song, but the first love song on this album. This is about a guy who approaches the girl he likes. In real life that takes real courage to do, which what Ashour had plenty of. I think this song will help Ashour reach new fans becasue it's so different form most of his heartbreaking songs. Good choice and leaves you hoping for better things, love is not all nightmares and pain.
09. Nasy Shaklaha, a mellower song where Tamer Ashour appeal for logic and reason as he has the "Determine the relationship" talk. The Spanish guitar saves this song, I think the theme sounds like many of the other songs.
10. Ya Ahlan, a new theme about working the bugs of love and making nice again, every guy has toyed with the idea of working things about with an ex and starting over. Tamer Ashour sounds upbeat in this track, and actually you can dance to this catchy song. Tamer paints a good picture with lyrics and his own style. Like it a lot.
11. Ma3lesh, slow slow away, you might want a slow dance, but this one is sadder than most slow dance songs. So not sure what to make from it, we all make mistakes, the song is about mistakes of the past and repentance, it deals with dark matters as death. Maybe Tamer Ashour needs to listen to this song less.
12. We Leih Ba3deen, the sweetest melody on this album carries the best message. Sometimes you need to know when to quit, you cannot just waste time on something that is not working. Move on. You know when you are stuck in a rut, and you keep telling yourself, it will be OK, but you know it won't. This is the massage of this song....delivered with a serving of great musical notes, and a better musical arrangement.
The random thing about breakup songs is that they are either happy songs--you are over someone, or that they are heart breaking. That song that meant everything good with that special someone can make you cry with the opening notes today. Sometimes that sad song can indicate an upcoming better things to come, or will to get out or miserable condition.
We listen to break up songs, sad love songs because these songs capture the emotions of the moment and tell it as few can. Tamer Ashour happens to be one of those who know better than anyone to talk you through a breakup and bring some normalcy to your life.
