Saudi Singer Ismail Mubarak @ismaeel_mubarak Charms The City of Cairo

Saudi singer Ismail Mubarak went to Cairo for a concert and it seems he was a huge hit over there too. Not too many Khaleeji artists feel they are famous in Egypt--frankly they do not have to be anymore goes to Cairo. Two decades ago, they would have been asked to go to Egypt and launch their career. But thanks to Satellite TV and the internet, they do not have to be anywhere in particular.

Though many singers form the Khaleej like to go to Cairo for concerts. Since droves of their fans live there--most would be natives to the Khaleej area. So a concert in Cairo is something cool to do. In this case Ismail Mubarak used the footage from his concert for his music video. I like this young artists and his warmth. He seems like a poet whose voice gives a needed hug.

I like the verse in the song "My love to you has no limits, there's no one but you, and I love you forever!" This must be nice to be on the receiving end of these beautiful crafted lyrics.

I like this song "Habibi" It's a sweet song that shows the depth of his fame and talent. Tons of his fans lined up to takes selfies with this charming singer. While many Arab artists dream of singing in Saudi, Ismail is doing the opposite he sins in Saudi but he also can have a sold out concert in Egypt. Ismaeel seems like a nice man who is fun to be in the same room with. There's an Iraqi singer who is a popular name in the Khaleej, I think Ismaeel has bested him with this song and this style.

This Hot Singer Goes To Mayrouba Festival

Nassif Zeytoun is the last iconic young singer who graduated from Star Academy and won the title. Now the charming Syrian vocalist is touring the world for his music tour. But before he hit the road, he stopped by a major music event in Lebanon where tourists and locals gather to enjoy wonderful music.

Nassif Zeytoun set the stage on fire and sang his heart out--too bad it was not life performance. The capable singer took his charm and fired up the attendees. He was not short on energy and the fans ate that up. This is a raw talent that has shown so much excitement.

See some highlights from the event and few of his signature songs. I think we are winner here to see a bright young artist who is doing all the right things and delivering solid songs frequently.

The Father Sings, So Does The Son And Now The Grandson!

Everyone in Egypt knows the iconic Sha'abi singer Ahmed Adaweya, he is a legend in singing folksy songs in simple Egyptian that made have been taboo then but now are considered classics. About ten years ago, the song Mohamed Adaweya launched his music career and he was pretty cool. In 2010 he did a song with his father that was decent and a second album. I am a fan for real.

During one of his concerts in Egypt Mohamed asked the audience to listen to his won song sing a live song for them. Ahmed Junior grabbed the microphone and fired away. The little kid is dressed just like his own father but named after his grandfather. The song of choice is a cover from his grandpa's past.

That was a fun moment and the audience and the band enjoyed it. The proud father was clapping for his son as he was delivering the song live. You have future kid!

The Next Amr Diab Sings An Old Song Of Amr Diab's

Ramy Sabry has always been a big fan of Egyptian pop star--he is one of the tens of millions of fans. But Ramy has two things going right for him, he is a composer/singer and he happens to look a bit like the pop legend himself.

While those two artists have separate careers and have met a lot of success, Ramy has not escaped being compared to Amr Diab, in almost every other interview they ask him if he is trying to be the next Amr Diab.

Amr Diab has been doing songs for the past 30 plus years, Ramy has been doing the same for the past ten. One different remains, Ramy Sabry composes songs for his peers in the pop scene, Amr Diab has yet to do so.

Naya, The Lebanese Girl Who Likes To Party

She is so young, she is so ditsy and if she can figure out how to get the microphone thing to work, she would make a fortune. Naya is not a new comer--she has been in the business for about three years, but technically, she is still new, and has one album under her belt.

At a concert in Beirut at a local hotel, she rocked the night with her playback singing--you can tell when the microphone gets loose, her floral mini dress. She sang her favorite songs to the attendees and she is full of life and the party was fun for her taking part.

I do not know if the dress was a good choice, but the other outfits were not any less shocking. Let's be fair, Beirut like to party.

Balkis Ahmed The Yemni Life of the Party!

Many of the great voices in Saudi Arabia came from Yemen. Belkis Ahmed is no different. She is the coolest pop star in the Gulf region and she rules on the social media where she shows the real person, a proud women with a lot of smart things to say. I know I like her voice and style, she is so young yet so talented.

She is a stable of concerts and music festivals. And her exotic look speaks volumes of the good looks to be found in Yemen where Africa, meets Arabia, meets Asia....creating a beautiful population despite the harsh lifestyle

Belkis has a very sweet tangy voice that can bring you to tears if the lyrics are right. She has moves and a style that creates jealousy. I know she has a good advisor in her composer father, but her image is something that allows her to make music videos and stun people with the different looks she can pull. Here's one of her live performances for the ages.

George Wassouf At Better Times (Video)

George Wassouf has seen better days and for some his best days may be behind him, but the Syrian cult singer will be remembered for a really long time not for his antics, his candor, but his style of music that is all his own. He is like no other truly. He is a brand name and his voice and style are a school a patent of sort.

I loved this man and have listened to his music with countless millions around the globe, his fans know he is nowhere near perfect, but they love him nevertheless. He is a smooth singer whose live performances are worthy of kings.

Here's The Best Song From Beyond The Grave By Al MazZikaty Band

God has blessed Khaled Mostafa with a delightful voice. He performed a song about the fallen in Egypt. The song about those who have been killed in vain. I think the song is about the victims of the city of Port Said soccer massacre. Martyr are a dime a dozen in today's Egypt which is unfortunate.

Many songs have been written about them, but none of them feel as real and heartfelt as the one by Khaled Mostafa, the indie artist from Al Mazikaty Band. This young artist seems to have a good presence, and all the ladies in the audience seem to be in love with him. As for Khaled, this song should make him famous, he showed sincere emotions.

The song is very dark, talking about graves and the size of the place where we are laid to rest. The song is titled, they only get the RIP affix to their names. It's a love song from beyond the grave....a guy who has given up his life and has no way of coming back...got nothing in exchange. He has become a tale, and now has been celebrated for a minute and now he rests in the dark in a coffin.

Morocco's Mawazine Music Festival Receives Amal Maher

Mawazine Music Festival just got started and its going to be as big as we have come to remember. Kicking off the festival was none other than Egyptian pop artist and diva Amal Maher who gave her first ever concert since the release of her latest album a month ago.

The fans at the festival were ready with requests and Amal gave them what they really wanted to hear witch is a song from her new album and it seems to have got them energized. Amal worked the crowd and it seems to have gone beautifully. I like live concerts, not all artists do a good job, Amal does well with her vocals and has gotten better at the showmanship.

The Finest Kuwaiti Diva Still "Got It"

Kuwaiti Nawal or Nawal of Kuwait is a legendary diva in the Arab world. The hit-maker goes every year to her native country to headline one of the biggest nights of music in town. Thought she now lives in Turkey with her musician hubby, she is often in the Khaleej doing music and headlining music festivals.

for than two decades and this lady has been enriching the music scene by making waves and being the best entertainer she can be. She is so talented in this live shows and she knows what works for her fans. While Nawak tried to do different things in the early and mod 00's, she seems to have stopped experimenting and sticking to her won formula.

Now Nawal is like the stateswoman of Khaleeji music. She is the lady that all the young female vocalists wants to be.

Your Grandpa's Rock Star Sabah Fakhri

Sabah Fakhri is no young dude, he is an old soul trapped inside the body of an old man. That old man is a rock star, and if you doubt that look him up--he has the longest concert on the record. Take that young pop stars in cool jeans, Sabah Fakhri has you beat.

He is not a local stars, he can go anywhere in the world, and have an instant sold-out concert. His fans are all over the map due to the unique traditional style combined with his mighty voice. Not sure what makes him go for a long time, but Sabah loves his craft and it shows. His concerts are like going back in time to the 1700 when music was a big deal in the Sultan's palace. Turkish, Iraqi, Moroccan and Syrian style. He knows how to make history alive again.

Sabah Fakhri remains one of the shrinking historic music figures who are still performing today. The last concert I recall for him was last year in the city of Beirut.

Over the past 50 years of fame and popularity as a singer, Mr. Sabah Fakhri modified and popularized the then-fading form of traditional Arabic music,Muwashahat and Koodood Halabiya. He is well known for his exceptionally strong vocals, impeccable execution of Maqamat and harmony, as well as charismatic performances. Luckily, he still has that fire in the belly and we feel it too.

Haitham Shomali Charms His Way By Playing Keybaord And Darbuka (Video)

Real musicians hate it when pop stars try to pretend to play musical instruments. Truth remains, very few Arab singer are musicians or at least play a musical instrument One of the young and charming Palestinian talents  is Haitham Shomali who has been known to play some live music for his concert attendees.

I like that, this is common in the West, and hope Haitham can start something great....I know Amr Diab sometimes does it, but when you do it live it makes the con cert so much fun and makes the artist seem legit.

In the video below, you will find the Palestinian-American artist play the keyboard and then the drum...he is great at both. This is how you made a good concert, not just sing and loud music, by interacting with the audience and exceeding their expectations.

Iraqi Majid Almuhandis Does His Own Music Diplomacy in Kuwait

Sadly, the word Iraq has become a dirty word in Kuwait, their next door neighbor. There's history and unease in both countries about one another and it has not changed for more than 25 years. The ambassador of Iraqi music Majid Almuhandis is doing his own diplomacy and releasing a new single titled "The Beloved Kuwait"

nothing wrong with songs like this, we need to fix what politicians ruin artists like Majid Almuhandis are best equipped to open a new chapter.  Majid had released many songs in the past and headlined dozens of concerts and events in Kuwait.

We cannot do diplomacy without wining the hearts and minds of people. Majid is doing a lot of great things, I find this particular song while self-serving is a nice gesture. So when it comes to Kuwait, Iraq has to wait...and do does Palestine.

WATCH: Tamer Hosny ... 180° Of Bullshit تامر حسني ... 180° - فيديو كليب @tamerhosny

This is a very long music video, it's almost long enough to be a sitcom or a mini documentary. What company has 9 minutes to waste? Plus I know Rotana took Tamer Hosny in, but why must they do crazy stuff like this? Who has 9 minutes in this very fast time of ours?

I know I do not. Let me see it I will change my mind once I see this latest Tamer Hosny attempt at redemption. He acts like he is not answering her calls, or speaking to her. Then comes the bike--which explains his futuristic leather jacket. Oh I see, he has a message, do not text and drive--I like that. I like the slow motion affects and the coolest accident you will see in Arabia. I am sure some will not be happy Tamer did not just kick the bucket.

He is on a wheelchair now fighting for his life when that model barges in asking about his state. Then she jumps ship and leaves him to his fate. But the hot nurse notices and takes care of Tamer Hosny and we should thank her for that. Question, did you think Tamer Hosny have plenty of makeup? and maybe some lipstick.

The music video does a lot of flashbacks and Tamer tries to make being on a wheelchair a cool thing and everyone seems happy to see him. Lots of pictures and faded memories.....Tamer is looking for a love that sticks in thick and thin, not only when things are good. She dumped his sorry face, and has a new boy toy, then he loses it and pushes away the one person who bet on him. Sweet hugs make everything right.I guess a bit of guitar cannot hurt, few seconds later the man is back in a mega concert and his lady is standing behind the stage--silent.

Maybe this music video is a lot to do with Tamer Hosny's last four years, as he was the king of of the world, and all of sudden he has become a pariah. I will not be upset with people who will like this music video.

Wissam Hilal Fired Up For "Ignite" Music Video @WissamHilal

Syrians do not have it as good as they once did. Take for example Wissam Hilal, a Syrian rock star whose home is Dubai. The rock star sings in English and he has done very well in local concerts for those who like American pop and western style music. But what surprise me about Wissam is his big ambitions despite the haters he keeps churning them hits.

He has big dreams and inspires to do better things and taking his name (and the flag of his country) farther. He returns with a new single and it's personal. He likes to party and his style tells that clearly. To my untrained ears, he sounds like a one man boy band. He got the looks, the style, the swagger, and the talent.

The music video is what you would expect to watch on TV networks like MTV. It's something of a happy "one direction" go lucky get moving track. Despite the crowded music scene and the low returns on investments, music will always be a way of life.

Those who like Western pop, do not have to look far, one of their own has it figured out. Enjoy "Ignite". Despite the sluggish state of the Arab music industry, Wissam will keep doing what he knows how to do best--make people happy.

Ramy Ayach's Good Deed, Fifty Scholarships Concert

Ramy Ayach got married, few days later he went hunting with his buddies, then now he is back in action with a concert. The concert has a feel-good, volunteers and artists took over a concert fundraiser, where Ramy sang for free and the money was used to educate and provide supplies for 50 students. I like this, it helps those who do not have the means.

The name of the charity is named after Ramy Aycah, ""Ayach Childhood:, Sarah Hany came to party with them, and she sang and so did Nadir Al athat, I like when artist do stuff fro free, then boast about it and tell us they just did something nice. This was some nice party for friends, and it looks like Ms. Ayach stepped in the spotlight.

People came to have a good time, party and do something good and rewarding for those 50 students. Look bless their hearts for doing this, but think about the cost for themselves, nothing, they came, they had a good time and looked good. Now, how paid for the other costs? the room setup? the labor, and the food? It was not donated or was it?

Lebanese Artists Party It Up At Murex D'or Dinner w Zahi and Fadi Helou

Lebanon's biggest gala is back in season now. The Murex d'Or (also known as the Golden Murex award) is a Lebanese award created by Lebanese physicians, Zahi and Fadi Helou to recognize achievements in the domain of art in mostly in Lebanon, part of the Arab world. It's been an active event since 2000.

You will see the two physicians who take charge of it, dance around with the stars and sing. Random, that's the biggest award event in Lebanon is an event planned by two physicians who like glamour.

The awards are a big gala, but there is the pre dinner and the after party, and a week of celebration. The cameras were at the dinner and you get to see some of your favorite artists dance and sing like they are some fans. See Josef Attieh fire up the crowd and sing a song for Lebanon. Note even that self-loving hair stylist is dancing in the background. some good energy in the room and it felt like a Lebanese party.

This was the white night event, where all the guests were supposed to wear white to the event which explains why does everyone looks like a waiter. Even the carpet was white at this function.

Crazy Die-Hard Fan Kisses George Wassouf's Shoes During Dubai Concert (Video)

Popular hit-maker George Wassouf  had a bad stroke three years ago and he has been recovering in half dozen countries. Now he agreed to do a concert in the city of Dubai for the new year. Droves of his passionate fans--many of whom are stoners came to see their legend sing.

One fan, he actually went for George Wassouf's shoes and kissed them. It was awkward for everyone as the guards thought he was attacking the pop icon.

This is the first time we witness such an act of fandom. Wassouf sang for two hours and he did received a lot of attention of his fans with presents and cakes.

Watch: Elissa Falls Off Stage Live شاهد..لحظة سقوط إليسا على المسرح

I hate when bad things happen to bad people. Elissa was doing a mega concert in Dubai and people paid top dollars to see her. But they did get a lot more than their idol and few good songs. They got to see her lose her balance and fall off the stage.

Maybe her shoes did not help? She tires to laugh it off as the guards rushed to her aid. It happens to the best pop stars so Elissa is in good company. Some are saying she had a lot to drink, I do not think this is it. It's just tough to keep your balance all the time. This fall took place at the Habtoor Grand Hotel in the sleepless city of Dubai.

Syrian Assala Live Concerts Are The Money (Video)

Not all your favorite Arabic pop stars worth the price of a concert ticket to see them live. Assala is top-tier songstress who is worth each and every penny paid to see her life. She has the stage personality that comes from a distant age, she has the grace and the charisma. And there's that little thing, her amazing and strong voice.

Watch these two videos from one of her concert appearances in Europe with an incredible orchestra, she has the whole package and her fans know that. She has a lot of opinions and we may agree or disagree with her, but the one thing few can dispute is her amazing talent and warm musical personality. She has a brand and it's a great one in live stage interactions. Enjoy her and note how she transcends and takes her captive audience on a journey.
