Omran Salem Fills Me With Sadness And Shame #Palestine #GazaUnderAttack

Now that all Palestine is revolting.....here's a song that inspires one to cry.
This is a new song recorded by the son of Nablus Salem Omran, it's a song that should full every Arab with shame, and every Palestinian with sadness. A song that asks the Lord to come to the rescue and about the land of conflicts, but the artist does one clever thing, he includes footage of Egyptian talking heads talking shit on Palestine. There are sad times, there's only God, no brother no support from assholes. I think this is sad because this will for sure push the people of Gaza to radicalism. Salem did a great job here with his voice that's filled with humility and sadness. His voice promises many and delivers a lot more.

I know Israel is in the wrong--they just murdered four boys playing soccer on the beach, the images are too graphic. They say they are moral, and I hope they better not believe it.

This actually maybe good as the people of Gaza will learn to fend for themselves, and be resourceful and create something out of nothing. The lyrics are soft, but they have been written by Qassim Al Najjar the loudest folksy singer in Palestine. No matter what Egypt is always going to be close to us, not the regime of right now. Let's remember, it was the Egyptian administration who turned in Gaza to the Israelis in 1967. Palestinians at that time were banned from having guns.... and now people like Okasha and Amr Mostafa, they are enjoying the murder of Palestinians.

Arab Singers "Holier Than Thou" Bullshit

In my mind, most of these artists pose as decent family people--some of them are really good and average run of the mill human being. For the rest they are nothing but a group of jerks with little moral character. The man and the women of the entertainment industry are a bunch of whores. Now, in public they put on a face, and pretend to be decent but in private all best are off. Now I say this because one artists is holding a launch party for a controversial song. See how they attack one another and get into one's business.

In her song, Chams tries to shame folks into holding into a false religion. The song is an attack into religion and people who believe. Fella was playing some new character, I do not see any real voices on the scene....she does not see any talent. She only had good words for Najwa Karam. Then she talks her self up. Then she talks about how she does not pay for her songs, because she gives a diamond voice. So the song is about attacking people who say one thing and do another, but Fella had no qualm attending an event with her peers, but a the same time, she does not seem them talented. And yes, Fella had her plastic surgeon at the party.

Fella has a great voice, but she is full of herself, way too much. She even rings her own voice....I do not know what to say.

Blood, Gore And Love By Ammar Hassan #Palestine #GazaUnderAttacks

This is the season for "I Love Palestine" songs. Since not many non-Palestinians are doing these songs anymore, the sons of Palestine step in. Ammar Hassan the Super Star runner up stands and delivers a love song for Palestine. He thinks about Palestine and it's his love, he looks the part, and carries a gun.

This is a resistance song, camping meets war, he actually make war seem fun--it's not that gore is real. I have been watching bloody images from Palestine--some of them are too graphic, so I think more of these done in the name of entertainment are out of line. I like Ammar, he is a true gem in Palestinian pop. He means well, but whoever directed him here has not seen war up close and personal.

This is about death, love and unfinished lives. I just think people who have seen blood and death this close, will not want to go through it again.

See #Gaza Like Never Before--Thanks To This Friendly Drone

Some young guys in Gaza, got together and came up with a drone concept, they launched it in the air around Gaza, and were able to capture their city in such an amazing way that we Palestinians were never able to see before--I am certain the Israeli army has such footage before.

The drone launched from a soccer stadium in the heart of Gaza and journeyed around town, bringing us joy as we look at Gaza's most developed part, the city and the water side. I am impressed by the talent who brought us this drone, and only hope that Israel does not find an excuse to bomb it..enjoy these images.

Arial images can be breath-taking. I think, the people behind this drone should go next to the refugee camps and bring us some never before seen images of those horrible places.

The Urban Street Poet From #Palestine Mc Gaza

He calls himself MC Gaza where he lives he is a beloved activist and artists among his peers, he is a clever and fast one. His name is Ibrahim Ghnim and he likes to rap about Palestine and most intimately about Gaza and the siege. He comes across as a frustrated young man who has been trapped in a land that does not truly appreciate what he has to offer.

But somehow that does not scare him, he has been rapping for years, and the likes on his Facebook keep on coming his way. I do not know if there is much money in this industry at home, but he is certainly a celebrity locally. He concluded 2013 with a concert in the graduation for the British Academy of languages.

I wish the stage at this event was better coordinated....but he played his beats and stood tall doing his rap thing. when he opens his mouth he sounds like an urban poet who is both street smart and college smart.

Arabia's Fame Whores Gather For Murex d’Or Awards

I really like the backstory behind this award. The Murex d’Or, French for the Golden Murex award, is the brainchild of Lebanese physicians Zahi and Fadi Helou and recognizes achievements in the domains of acting, singing and entertainment in Lebanon and the Arab world.

The award’s name was a tribute to the murex seashell, which produces the Tyrian purple dye, widely used during Phoenician times. In a nutshell, this is a big ego trip for the underemployed physicians and their fame-hungry celebrity friends. It's one of the most exclusive awards and a party that takes on the Lebanese capital.

It's done well and celebrities would kill to get a trophy that night. Needless to say all the big wigs in Lebanon chase the organizers to get tickets. You see politicians, business types, media personalities, fashion/style figures and army generals seated next to other big fancy pants Arab entertainers.

Here's the hard-working team behind Elaph stalked artists on the red carpet and got a dozen of interviews. There were plenty of characters in attendance. Enjoy this longest 20 minutes of fame whores on ego trips.

See all your favorite singers speaking about being honored at this event--do not worry many of them paid for it one way or another. It's like getting an award for doing one's job--can you imagine?!

Dalal Abu Amneh, Palestine's Biggest Contribution To Arabic Music

Here's a good song by Dalal Abu Amneh, the daughter of Palestine who got its soul and warmth from living among too many contradictions. Despite all the misery and identity-crisis, Dalal came out fine. This diva who has made the Arab 48 region a rich musical ground, has also made so many of us proud as she is also a woman of science and research.

She has a beautiful family of her own, and most working in the entertainment industry love to work with her--photographers, musicians, composers,  poets, lyricists, radio jocks, and studio owners. Her talent make them proud of who they are--someone form among us has the world-class gift that makes people happy around the world. This is where Dalal tops the others, if there is no connection between me and the music, than there is no point for me to consider listening to it.

I love when Dalal Abu Amneh does classical-style music as such music can be interpreted in an infinite amount of ways. Its emotion is much more vast compared to most modern music in which a beat overpowers everything and there are electronic voices puffing out words. It requires actual talent to play an instrument and compose well while it takes no talent to flip a switch to create sounds and change a voice. That's why classical music is timeless and doesn't go out of style. In modern music you listen to a song and three months later it is virtually out of popularity.

Try listening to her song performed with a live orchestra about the land, homesickness, the sun and love stories.  "Khaleeni Fe Balak" Keep Me On Mind, this is an experience, not just a song, it's almost if your favorite spring themed painting could sing, it would sound like Dalal. Newcomers to Arabic classical music are often a bit overwhelmed at the sheer number of composers, works, sub-genres and interpretations that are out there. With its immortal opening four-note theme, Dalal is unquestionably one of the greatest Arab divas of all time, a talent unlike any other.

Shaden Salim, The Edward Said Music Conservatory Vocalist

Indie and alternative artists are emerging in Palestine, and thanks to the social media, they are getting the help they need. One of them is composer and singer Ahmed Dari, who has been making his own songs, but also giving other similarity-minded artists some of his compositions. Shaden is pretty confident that she has plenty to offer.

Shaden Salim released a new song, and the music is the work of Ahmed Dari, thanks to her voice, this song has classical written all over it. Shaden comes from the Edward Said Music Conservatory. It's a song about the passing winter and cold, about life, memories and distance. Shaden is keen on Palestinian folklore, but this time, she goes for something classical. I like the fact that she had performed at the Hebrew University

Press Conference at Mazzika With Amal Maher And Her Partners in Crime

Mazzika thought they had a good album and so did Amal Maher. They seem to have spared no dimes to make this album a hit, it will be a hit for sure. But that will cost some serious money to ensure that happens. Unlike the 2011 that needed only ten dollars to be a hit--each track on the album was a labor of love.

The 2015 album is decent, but needs a lot more marketing. See Amal schmooze with the team behind her album. She was the oxygen in the room. She was upbeat and happy with the final product. Walid Saad who composed seven tracks was there too--I blame him for making this album a bit boring.

In a press conference as Mazzika's headquarters, the artist met with her team, journalists and photographers were there. There are so many new names in the album, but to be honest maybe we thought we are getting a better album maybe we had bigger expectations.

Ayman Bahgat Amar was there and spoke to the press--he had written two songs' lyrics

@ziadbourjiii Love Triumphs Hate--Take That Terrorists

Lebanese entertainer (singer, composer, lyricist, and actor) channeled his charm into a new single about love. His previous single was in the Gulf dialect and he shot into a music video, but this time he feels like his old self.

For a good looking guy who is also a well-dressed man he tried hard to show his emotions through his music. He also wrote a number of songs--most famously for Elissa. The guy's new song is about how love can take over hate, and making good with other humans. This song is about life, and perhaps about all this crazy violence that he sees around at home and nearby. It's a shot song, but it has a lot to offer about the most overlooked sentiment.

Latifa Sucks Up To The Gulf And I Like It

Tunisian Latifa gave an interview timed with the release of her new album, see in 2013 she released two albums one for the gulf that seems to have gone unnoticed, and another general pop album that was great. Latifa spoke about how she loves the Gulf region. She prays for the Gulf, and wants this area to prosper. She is brown nosing them, it's all for a paycheck.

She sang a lot of dialects, but this is not her first Gulf album, she made one years and years ago, then she released a single. She likes the region....it's not a comfortable topic to bring up since it feels awkward....the interviewer really pushed her buttons.

Iraqi Kadem Al Saher had a stellar new party, he was joined by another dude, Romance babe Wael Kfoury. The two sold-out the venue and it was a night to remember! Romance, poetry, upbeat, dance and more! These are two top-talents (one judges the voice and the other is on X Factor) So, not only do you see A listers at their prime sing, but also world-calls charming celebrities.

Beirut had witnessed another hot night, most Arab and Lebanese tourists flock to this capital to party at home. New year parties are almost never about class, but there is always interest in good art. Melhem who was supposed to have a concert in Dubai, faced a last minute cancellations so he was happy to have the time with his family.

Kazem had the night for himself, and Wael shared the stage with him. Melhim Zain who was in town sang with each of them. Kazem straight three hours where he performed his most beloved hits. He was later joined by his pal Melhem Zain who performed a song with him on the stage.

Kareem, The Presentor of The Voice Speaks About His Gig

At first he was a beloved Egyptian actor who took challenging and indie roles, he made a great villain. This is Mohammad Kareem, the guy who is still the presenter and the host of the MBC produced The Voice, filmed in Lebanon. He was a surprise pick, but I guess he is Egyptian and that's good for marketing. This is the second season for him on the show--he has said he may not comeback. But he has also been talking about being part of an international film project, and he is promising surprises to his fans.

He seems like a nice guy, but I do not know why he is treated as a celebrity intellect. He just gave an interview, talking about the coaches and his friendship with the four of them. How hard is his job? It's not like he is doing it live, it's all pre-re recorded and things are easy....It's not just business, they look like they are great friends--I am sure when they have time.

The crew of the show have to have a level of chemistry, some drama goes a long way--I am looking at you Arab Idol.

Is Palestinian Rap Dead? No One Told McGaza

Mc Gaza is living and working in Gaza, but the hard-working young rapper does not see to understand that the rap genre has been pronounced dead so many times. Yes, every year, a young artist comes along and pumps new life into the dead body and the the industry takes notice. Overall, rap is not something I have always liked, a good song is a good song.

This hip-hop artist makes angry rap, and the thing I love about him is his speed at spitting out words to channel whatever though is crossing his mind. He sees himself as the angel of death...and he delivered a powerful message with a clever beat.

Mr. Lebanon Wants You To Stop Drinking And Driving

I know Mr. Lebanon is all about good looks, fashion and modeling. But the latest winner wants to do something new and important. His cause is to get you to stop doing DUI. Yes, he does not want you to drink and drive. I like that he wants to bring awareness to this worthy cause....the youth are idiots.

I do not know what else he would do, but Ayman is trying to increase his profile, he already has a college degree. I think it's safe to say he will appear into music videos. It takes a man to be able to compete in these speedos. I know with the many bars in Lebanon and the party-loving population, things get interesting. Ayman has already filmed a yet to be released music videos with Nancy Ajram.  Watch the interview....

7 Facts Every Music Lover Should Know

Growing up, I recall watching a commercial for butter where in the Netherlands one company claims to pamper their cows which gives them better milk. That's just one fact, but there are seven of them. My two favorite facts are that nostalgia is the most common emotion on songs and that repeating chorus increases the chances of a song becoming a hit.

Thank you BuzzFeed for reporting on this...

Ramy Ayach's Good Deed, Fifty Scholarships Concert

Ramy Ayach got married, few days later he went hunting with his buddies, then now he is back in action with a concert. The concert has a feel-good, volunteers and artists took over a concert fundraiser, where Ramy sang for free and the money was used to educate and provide supplies for 50 students. I like this, it helps those who do not have the means.

The name of the charity is named after Ramy Aycah, ""Ayach Childhood:, Sarah Hany came to party with them, and she sang and so did Nadir Al athat, I like when artist do stuff fro free, then boast about it and tell us they just did something nice. This was some nice party for friends, and it looks like Ms. Ayach stepped in the spotlight.

People came to have a good time, party and do something good and rewarding for those 50 students. Look bless their hearts for doing this, but think about the cost for themselves, nothing, they came, they had a good time and looked good. Now, how paid for the other costs? the room setup? the labor, and the food? It was not donated or was it?

Cairokee Musters The Courage To Shame Egyptian Media #Television @CairoKee

Arguably Cairokee is Egypt's biggest indie band, they might also be it's best rock band of all time. I know they shot to fame after the January 25th 2011 revolution, but they made good music and had a decent message. Though I had a falling out with them in the wake of the army coup of July 2013. Cairokee had no trouble expressing their opinions up to that point.

They chose silence, now it seems they were moved to speak about the abuses they see in Egypt. After the cold-blooded assassination of Shaima Al Sabagh- the leftist activist who was gunned down in the hands of her husband.

Enjoy the new song where they rock to making fun of Egyptian media and the various colorful TV programs that offer nonsense and silly analysts. This is a true song, as the media in Egypt has gone to the dark side, and only idiots who are pro army get to have a talk show...but this is not the only alarming thing. TV hosts in Egypt lie and defame people to support an imagined community. This is a smart yet bold song by the band. They do not like what they see, but they know they have a limit on how much they can say.

I like how they take to task the sad state of Egyptian media and finger pointing where if you are not with them, you are an enemy. As far as the music is concerned, this is a sweet song that has some serious appeal to those who appreciate a more Western music style. The band still makes great music, comes up with creative ideas and travel the world in support of their music and their ideals.

I applaud their return to common sense and pointing the oblivious in the lame, no good horrible state of media inside the country known as Egypt. You really cannot have a revolution without either a smart media to educate you or a media so bad it makes you laugh till you cry.
