#Ya_Yumma" Brings Mohammed Assaf Back to #Palestine @MohammedAssaf89

It took Assaf three weeks to release a song for Palestine in light of the Israeli madness and policy of execution of young Palestinian men and women. Assaf is been busy lately promoting that movie that talks about his life in paces like London and Dubai.

He wore his Palestinian scarf, and got the song going. This is a song he had to make, he may found himself an unenviable position that people were expecting him to do something. He still got the voice, some remind me this might have been an old song that Assaf is covering. It mentions a number of Palestinian towns that have revolted against the occupation.

The team behind the song sound like talents from Gaza, Palestine. I am not inspired it but I am pleased Assaf has still time for Palestine. The footage used for the song show a number of things that celebrate life in Palestine and young men who still have the fire.

Then Assaf gives a talk toward the end of the song dedicating it to the people who matter. He names the city of Jerusalem and its people too. I like how his songs pays homage to mothers in Palestine as suggested in the title.

Behind The Scenes With Mohammed Assaf (Video)

Two months ago, Assaf released a music video that he filmed inside a refugee camp inside Lebanon. It was a good song, and got a lot of people talking about this Arab Idol. He is a talker for sure, he chooses the right words carefully like a seasoned politician. He knew his fancy life should not stop him from connecting with his people in Lebanese and throughout the camps in Palestine. Kids love this guy and so do the masses.

Watch behind the scenes and tell me, you do not see or feel the love....the guy is the man of the people, they love him and they come out for him, he parties with them, posed for pictures, carried their kids, and give them whatever healing he can afford. Sure, he is a business side, but he also does not overlook his people and their dreams.

"The Idol" New Movie Is A Biography of Assaf (Trailer Video) @MohammedAssaf89

The world-famous Palestinian Arab Idol returns with a new song. And it's the real money where it serves as an amazing vehicle for this plenty talented young artist. This once Assaf did the song he really wanted to do, not the one the studio made him do it. Asaf gave his album and it sold like hotcakes. But now comes the time for him to do the projects that he would be allowed to do.

This song "Mahma Sar"  a song where he unleashes his vocal muscles and sing about the person and the place he misses. While the music video focuses on Gaza and the beautiful face that we seldom see. The song is about love about memories we live. The song is pretty personal and Assaf seems to do his best to be the most passionate voice within him.

The music video shows the destruction in Gaza but the people's faces who have not been broken. This is supposed to be from an upcoming movie project where the lenses of Hany Abu-Assad captured this story. I guess this is the personal history of Mohammed Assaf as a little pop who came to be. I doubt this has filmed in Gaza, it feels like it has been shot inside Lebanon where plenty of the camps fill in for Gaza. There will be images form Gaza throughout he film...

Arab Idol Ahmed Gamal Celebrates The Sham New Suez Canal

Ahmed Gamal did great things on Arab Idol, he was the runner up for Mohammed Assaf on the program. People loved him and appreciated his talent. Even those who voted Assaf, could see the quality man Ahmed Gamal is.

But two years later and Gamal is still trying to find his own voice. He did couple of songs for TV dramas and a music video for a decent single he released. But now comes his new challenge. A song he recorded for the new Suez canal. The song makes two countries out of Egypt. One for violent general Sisi minions and another for everyone else--he calls them traitors.

This is a political porn as the song's music is the work of Amr Moustafa who still thinks Mubarak is God's gift to mankind and hates the January 25th revolution. Not sure what Ahmed Gamal is doing by pairing himself with that useless idiot. Perhaps he wants to get paid and get access too.

Enjoy the new canal, dictators love celebrations and fake landmarks. I hope when this is all over, those who brown nose dictators will find a place to take them.

Mohammed Assaf Flirts With Egypt In New Music Video #AywaHaghani

There have been many Egyptians who did songs for Palestine. Many and countless did sing for Palestine from Egypt and outside of it. For once, we get a Palestinian singer doing a sweet love song for Egypt. It feels nice to have one of our own doing a song for Egypt at those dark hour.

What I think cool is that Assaf did the song in a real street and people had no idea what to make of it. It appears that few appearing  in the music video did spot him and knew he is the Arab Idol in the flesh. It's pretty a near concept to explore. While it's true that all Arabs loved Assaf and voted for him due to his symbolic rise to fame and also to his bright talent.

The song itself was released on Assaf's debut album and it made some waves for him in Egypt with his fan base. But Assaf filmed a story from the heart of that country and from its streets among it's people. He lived the lifestyle at least for a day. After all Assaf did visit Egypt right before he auditioned to the Arab Idol that made him the mega star and ambassador he is. Assaf ditches the cool things and enjoys the simple lifestyle and walks among the people.

The Palestinian artists might be pitching in to help boost Egypt tourism efforts by telling stories and projecting what we often forget in the midst of all the political madness. The song offers some wisdom on life and some lessons on people. I like the cafe scene and how people got into it to sing along with Assaf. And then comes the Nile cruise with its well-known parties.

Fares Karam (Rotana) vs. Mohammed Assaf (Platinum Records)

Two mega music companies are prepping for new releases for some of the hottest music videos. The first is a young Palestinian Arab Idol doing an Egyptian song. The other is for a Lebanese hit-maker who has consistently releases a summer dance hit every summer for the past 15 years.

Not sure what these two songs have in common with another, but they will be sort of important in the pop music scene. We sort of miss Mohammed Assaf, he has now to do great things to get our attention, mediocre songs do not work. Sure we are proud of him and what he has accomplished but if he wants to be a big number in pop music, he has to play by the rules and own it.

Fares Karam needs no introduction, The Lebanese bro and pro hit-maker released a mini album almost a week before Ramadan and now he is back marketing his two album songs with a music videos. Fares knows how to make a summer hit--somehow the music and energy stays the same the lyrics and topic vary. He is playing stalker for his music video--not cool anywhere but in the Middle East.

The One Guy Who Makes Arabic Music Happen @salhendi

Salem Al Hindi is the top boss at Rotana music. He is the CEO or the equivalent of top manger who overseas just about every contract/deal with Arab artists. He is a celebrity himself as he can be seen alongside all the big and hot names in Arabic music. He can also be mean sometimes, and he does not look kindly on attacks from pop stars at his company.

In a recent interview, Salem seemed candid about Arabic pop and the business, he gave the interview to that popular magazine "Saydaty". He has few nuggets to say

  1. Rotana has the biggest names in Egyptian pop Amr Diab and Tamer Hosny
  2. I have special relationship with Amr diab who can be very difficult to deal with.
  3. Amr Diab is so demanding and he likes to oversee every aspect out of fear for his brand and his legacy.
  4. Same goes for Tamer Hosny, we do all we can to satisfy him artistically.
  5. Some Lebanese singers are so demanding as they overdo it, but cannot point to an artistic problem.
  6. Same artists forget that they are no longer as important or as big of a name as they once were, yet they think they have the upper hand with Rotana.
  7. Most of their demands are to show off and to talk about their prestigious.
  8. He does not mean Elissa, whom he likes and calls easy to deal with and he respects for that.
  9. Amr Diab is still under contract with Rotana, so there is no negotiation.
  10. Angham, just joined the company now where they will mange her businesses and produce her music.
  11. Mohammad Assaf is an important voice, but  as long as he is happy with his production company, good luck to him.
  12. He think the world of Najwa Karam and Assi Hallani, he is so diplomatic when he speaks about them and about their rightful place in Rotana
Little is known about Salem's personal life, but I feel he is the figure most Arab pop stars like to be locked in a room with. Why do I get the feeling he is not a big fan of Assaf?

Top Spot Goes To Mohammed Assaf "Palestinian-Blooded" @MohammedAssaf89

Assaf found a lot of success with all kinds of songs, but it seems he reserves his best energy to those songs that celebrate Palestine. He is great at romantic songs (cover and originals) But it seems that we are always ready to listen to him when he has a song about Palestine. Even those Arabs appreciate those kind of songs as well as the natives of the land do.

I like the music here, and the mix of folklore and techno....such songs require hitting the high notes (almost shouting) He is good with that and such style fits well in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Palestine. It's a perfect dance song (Debka) so much energy and so much overflowing patriotism. Again the music wraps the song well and Assaf feels the fire.

Mohammed Assaf New Upbeat #Palestine Song - Dammi Falastini

His best songs are about Palestine. When he tried to sing about love he did just okay. I love Arab Idol and the kid from Gaza Mohammed Assaf....but his album was a dud. Sure, it sold a lot of records but tell me one song that will shape the young artists' career? I could not find one.

It's like he is out of battery juice when he sets his sight on anything other than Palestine. The motherland brings out the best from within him, and Assaf sounds like he feels something deep and it comes out with all that sorrow he has lived and seen in his years in Gaza Palestine.

So now came from nowhere to sing a new single for Palestine. A happy song about being a Palestinian in the blood. To my ears, this sounds like like Jordanian songs....but they are very similar to the Palestine folklore. It's a fun song about being from the land, and a member of the Arab demographics who value the city of Jerusalem.

This is a good song from Assaf and I know some of his fans who are not from Palestine will find it entertaining while feeling authentic. Keep on mind this is the time of the year when summer concert contracts are signed up. So Assaf is in the running and he is trying to bring back that euphoria we all felt for him two years ago.

In Asian Cup Japan Defeats Palestine, 4-0

Defending champions Japan thrashed Palestinian national soccer team 4-0 in their Asian Cup opener Monday, but for Palestine -- a team recognized by FIFA, soccer's global governing body, since 1998 but not yet as a fully fledged country by the United Nations -- their appearance meant more than any progress on the pitch.

The Asian Cup holders Japan enjoyed a stroll in the Newcastle breeze as they swatted aside proud debutants Palestine to kick off their title defense with a comprehensive victory.
Yasuhito Endo, Shinji Okazaki, Keisuke Honda scored first-half goals with Maya Yoshida adding another after the break in a contest that was predictably one-sided for the record four-times champions.

Palestine, who qualified to play in the Asian Cup for the first time despite the restrictions placed on them, received a harsh lesson about the standards needed to trouble the very elite in the continent.
The midfielder Endo set Japan on their way with an eighth-minute fizzing long-range drive after being allowed far too much room to stroll towards the Palestinian area.

Ever since the Palestinian Football Association was recognized by FIFA -- one of the first and only truly global organizations to recognize an entity called Palestine -- soccer had reflected the shifting political situation around it: Occupation, allegations of terrorist links, arbitrary arrest, death, bombings, allegations of torture, hunger strikes, movement restrictions, exile, internecine warfare and failure.

It was a good game for Japan who had an easy win, I hope the Palestine soccer team learns a lessons and fixes whatever is needed--there were lots of hopes.

Does Anybody Like Homewrecker Dounia Batma Anymore? @DouniaBatmaA

Let's check out this list
  1. First she came second on Arab Idol, and she did not win the title. It did go to Carmen Soliman, so Dounia commented the award was hers and she was told she will win, but something mysterious happened and she was robbed of it.
  2. Then she married an already married older man and few weeks later, he divorces his wife and mother of his children to be with Dounia.
  3. Then she goes in a public rant on the ex and calls her names and promises to make her life into a complete hell. She also tries to talk about how young and how pretty she is in comparison with the ex.
  4. During an interview, she did speak ill of Arab Idol winner Mohammad Assaf, and accuses him of being arrogant.
  5. In the same interview she speaks ill of her pal Carmen Soliman and questions her talent when she appeared as a model next to Abdo in his music video.
I think there might be other things she has said and done that upset some people. I know people do not like her wearing shorts and showing too much affection toward her new husband and oversharing. I do not see that a problem. Luckily, Elaph caught up with the Moroccan pop artists and asked her the tough questions about her controversy, comments and lack of class.

Dounia said that no one likes her honesty. It might be that or it might be that she just needs to learn be okay with silence. I do not see her doing herself any favors to herself or her career. It's sad when she attacks two people who appeared on the same program she did and who sing under the same music label as she does. No question she is talented and she has a bright future as more weddings in the Gulf book her to entertain them on their special night.

Video: محمد عساف | توقيع ألبوم عساف 360 | Mohammed Assaf | Album Launching

If you are an Arab singer in today's world, you are not making real money from selling albums. All of them are struggling, but Assaf is not. He is currently touring males and cities to talk about his new album and perform for the masses who want to purchase a copy of his album. Mohammed Assaf took on Lebanese mall at the Virgin Mega Store to meet his fans and sign copies. That's days after he did the same thing in Dubai, and Amman. It's not easy for a young Palestinian male to do well in Lebanon and have some much love--Assaf did it and he helped many young refugees from the camps in Lebanon to see themselves in him.

Assaf is a big deal for the music industry. Even though he has been in the spotlight in less than two years, he has outdone the stars who have been singing for decades. See the fans rage as they meat the idol who was happy to be out with Platinum Records. He is a smart guy, and he seems humble enough. However, he is also a Palestinian with a mission. He talked about where he wants to be, he also had a message for his native land.

In other news, he won an award for best Arab/African/Middle Eastern/India artist. He knows he is now not just limited to his fans in Palestine. He got a lot of support from his fans and more. The guy has ambitions, and big plans. I just hope it does not get into his head. He does credit God and his parents for a lot of his success.

Assaf Returns To Khan Yunis And Makes Everyone Happy! (Pictures)

Despite being one of the busiest Arab celebrities, Assaf made time to go visit his family home in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younes--which is a giant refugee camp. Needless to say all his home boys, neighbors, old friends, teachers and everybody in the area flocked to their home to say help to their favorite son.

Assaf times the visit upon the return of his parents from the trip to Saudi Arabia to do Haj, there was many people visiting and this was a surprise visit. It was a personal visit and no work or other media commitment. Just Assaf and his family and friends. Note how everybody was smiles and excited to see the Arab Idol--the rocket from Gaza. Despite a brutal Israel war that erased effectively 25 percent of Gaza, this guy was able to bring out smiles in a battered people.

Assaf just set the stage of Arab Idol on fire few days ago, and his album has claimed the number one spot in every category and in every Arabic-speaking country it appears.

Assaf Returns To Arab Idol And Raises Hell (Video) #Assaf

Arab Idol and MBC needed a boost in ratings, and they needed some good news (Ahlam keeps insulting people and talking trash) Assaf just released his debut album and wanted to be all over the radar, so he appeared on the show where he made his name. He joined the 13 other contestant on the 3rd season of Arab Idol. It was some party, but Assaf was the best news on that show.

Note how Assaf was even a bigger deal than some of the judges--who may be jealous of what Assaf has accomplished in very short year. He sang his famous Palestine song, but before each of the young singers did a bit of a homage song for their respective own motherlands. Some of these voices are worth it, like the guy from the UAE whose voice is pretty awesome. The lady from Egypt has a good soul and a sweet good vibe.

Assaf did a number of songs, the new ones are pretty bold. It made sense to have more than one song for Egypt--there are four Egyptians on the last 13. Two Syrians, and Two Palestinians. Assaf did have a lot more confidence, he is not being judged this once. He is now a seasoned artist who has already traveled more miles than all the judges combined. He has already sang for more people than any of the judges will ever be able to do.

WATCH: #عساف - لوين بروح | #Assaf - La Wayn Brouh "To Where Are We Headed"?

The dark side for Arab Idol Assaf is now out in public.

For a kid from Gaza, Palestine Assaf is a lucky guy, it might be that he is good--whatever it's he has done well for himself and his family and his community. Assaf goes grownup mode and it feels refreshing to see him sing like an old bitter man who is tired. And he is hurt who has had enough. Assaf has stuck to happy songs in his two years, but now comes the new album and all shades are clear. Assaf is doing a variety of songs to please all age groups and demographics.

The jjourneydoes matter, just check in with your loves ones and let them know that they matter. Love the music work by Ziad Bourji, the lyrics of Ahmad Madi express so much. Does it feel like you hear bits of Saber El Robaei?

WATCH: Assaf First Hit! #عساف - لوين بروح - قريباً | La Wayn Brouh promo

The debut album for everyone's favorite Arab Idol is about to get a release date, it will feature eleven songs--even an Iraqi and a Palestinian songs. But romance is in theme Assaf will bring out in this album. Let's see his collaboration with household names like Fares Iskander and Ziad Bourji. I feel this will be a big deal.

The promo for his new song shows a darker side--the shade of romance and life that we would rather not think about. The song's title asks the million dollar question "where are we headed to?" a rhetorical question perhaps but it will make you think about you, your family, your community and the entire Arab world.

There is a big backing for this artist for good measures, he has already become a global star thanks to constant media coverage and a huge social media profile. Now the Burdon on the artist to take that and make it into something lasting and not just a bubble. Form one Palestinian to another, make your millions of fans proud.

The Biggest Arab Idol Mohammed Assaf Retruns With A Big Bang!

I do not know if any Arab Idol would be as big of a deal as Assaf is, he was the guy who won everything and made Arab Idol in the global news all at once- everyone was talking about him. The album will have 11 tracks and I like what I am seeing.

Now he is ready for primetime again with the release of his upcoming album. We know it will have some big names attached and the timing is near. Assaf is going to sell his album like hotcakes, his loyal fans will buy the album around the world and propel it to Top one spot--you watch. This is an album people want to own, and it will stick around and sell.

The album's promo is very romantic and dreamy all at once. Assaf is spreading cheers, flowers and love is in the air. This is his debut and he knows it means good things and so does the companies that do business with him.

today the songs form the album can be downloaded via iTunes. But there are games, social media loves them...Assaf and Platinum Records put up a challenge asking fans to put the album songs in order to win a two night stay in Dubai.

The album promo is about Assaf, the artist and the celebrity, the songs are not even the attraction. but his smile, his hair and himself is what will make the album is a hit and a best-seller. Now, this is a fresh way of doing business and Assaf is a good entertainer and savvy businessman.

All of Lebanon's Murex D'or Awards 2014 #الموريكس

The biggest award show in Lebanon and the Arab World took place last week and it made all the news. Murex D'or is the perfect place for self promotion, business deals and parties. This is the 2014 version and things are looking good for all the stars. Egyptians, Lebanese, Syrians and Arab ones lined up to collect awards, or just have a good time. The organizers talked about their award ceremony,

It’s an annual award ceremony which started back in 2000 with a history of 12 editions. As for the name of the award show is a tribute to Phoenician Murex which was used to dye cloth in imperial Tyrian purple. The Murex is a Phoenician symbol which represents a shellfish, whose secretions were used to dye cloth with the deep rose color known as the Ourjouan. Phoenicians used Murex color to dye silk, wool and other fabrics and exported them to the world. Consequently the Murex played a major role in their trade, success and distinction.

All these big names showed up, and Tamer Hosny had his screaming fans waiting for him at the award. He is notorious for doing that. Watch the biggest names collect their trophies and talk to the media despite all the sadness. Our Arab Idol Mohamed Assaf collected an ward and got to perform live--this song was sad and a new step for Assaf who sings for the Gulf a new single.  Assaf won the best young Arab artist.

Watch the amazing tribute for this young artist invoked Gaza and Palestine.

Shomali Group Productions presents, Haitham Shomali in, “Gaza Not Forgotten.”

Yesterday, September 2, 2014, it was released, with the title, “Gaza Operatta,” translation, “Operate Gaza.”   Seven very talented Palestinian artists stood together and created a masterpiece that is surely to move anyone that listens to it.  From the time of its inception, to completion, Haitham Shomali,   Ammar Hassan, Mohamad Assaf,  Lian Bazlamit, Toni Qatan,  Sabreen Kamal and Mohamed Ayyad,  were able to complete the song and its clip even while some of them were countries, even oceans, apart.  To many it may have seemed nearly impossible to successfully bring together a group with different styles and locations and meld them fluidly, however, in watching the video you can see how the group performed with ease to show their love for their country and countrymen.

Gaza Operatta, started with an idea by the veteran of the group and of the hit show Superstar 2, the Arabic version of what is American Idol, Ammar Hassan and poet Mohammad Ayyad.  Their idea was to create a song together with other Palestinian artists just for people of Gaza and lives lost.  Gaza’s people have been the target of many assaults over the years and this one was one of the bloodiest as they just faced a 7 week bombardment where 2,100 people lost their lives, many of them innocent men, women and children.    Hassan pitched the song idea to his close friend, fellow talented artist, Haitham Shomali.   Haitham loved the idea and offered his whole hearted participation and 30 days later, it was created.

When Haitham was asked what he felt the group hoped to achieve through this endeavor,   he said, he believed their desire was to bring “awareness to the suffering Gaza has continuously had to face, to praise the people for their strength through it all and also to present them with this gift of unisons and solidarity for their people that they may know they are there in sprit if not in flesh. “  You can view the link to the song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKmrJLi5cCA&app=desktop or at his youtube channel:  www.youtube.com/haithamshomali .

The news is that Haitham is not stopping there; he is taking his stance for his Country of Palestine and those in Gaza to the next level as he dedicates his first US tour to his people, which he has titled, Shomali Group Productions presents, “Gaza Not Forgotten.”  Shomali Group Productions was created by Haitham who is educated in film and music production.  It is a full service audio and video production company capable of crafting, producing and directing any artist’s audio and video product.

Haitham and his team, have arranged to, stop in four cities in US and donate proceeds to up to two humanitarian organization dedicated to rebuilding hospitals in Palestine and in also providing food and clothing for the people of Gaza.   The dates and times are as follows:  October, 11 at the Ritz Charles, Indianapolis, IN, October 24th in Chicago, IL at Al Hambra Palace., November 8th, Miami Fl and November 22, Detroit, MI at the Andiamo Restaurant, Warren, and dinner will be served.    For more information regarding buying sponsorship spots for this tour, or for early bird ticket sales you may reach out to management@shomaligroup.com
