Hamid El Shari is Libya, he has always been that way. He also comes from the Eastern side of that country, where the revolution started. But he has always embraced his Libyan side in his music, if you go back to 1988 when he was just starting out and his music was the hottest thing in the Arab world.
Hamid is no stranger to pop and he is certainly no stranger to Libyan music and those very distinct proud lyrics. Keep on mind Hamid supported the revolution in Libya from day one and worked to collect food supplies and aid to his country men. I think he made the right call and we are happy to see another Arab entertainer doing the right think unlike the bulk artists in Syria.
