Ala Azzam is a young Palestinians musician form the city of Haifa, he happens to be one of thousands of the hard working musicians working to revive classical Arabic music. Alaa plays the Oud and other instruments, he is a legend among his fans, other musicians follow his lead and look up to him as he tours bringing old and almost forgotten Arabic music to live.
Ala is the second musicians in his family, his father was before him and Ala kept to the family tradition. Sometimes during his concerts he would wore the traditional outfit for musicians--that red hat thing like the shriners do. Ala performs music of the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, the kind of music my grandfather grew up listening to.
