Whatever Happened To Katia Harb? I Will Tell You

Like a flash, she conquered the Arab world of romance with her light super honey laced pop songs where she sounded like a dreamy girl who loved a guy, but feels that he should initiate. That was the late 90s and early 2000, but then all of sudden she was gone. Like she came to do something, and when she did it, she just stepped aside.   This Lebanese singer was really something.

Here's a bit about her, she is an alum of the popular Lebanese show Studio El Fan, a classmate of singers like Diana Haddad, Elissa, and Wael Kfoury--season 1992/1993. She released a number of singles, and had a good song in 1996. And she kept making music up to 2004, she called quits--she left when she was on top.

Katia made a different choice, she went to a Lebanese divinity school and spending more time with people in need like orphans and the elderly. In a press release at the time, this was a long dream of hers, she has always wanted to be a help for those in need. Katia was following in the footsteps of another singer who did just that Rabei Al Khawly who lives in a mission and helps consult with other singers on spiritual matters.

I salute Katia for making this bold decision at a young age and at the time where she could have done other things with her life.

P.S. there are some unconfirmed reports online that she might be releasing some new work including a hymn album

Katia "Ad El Hob"
