Tamim Barghouti Wrote Egypt A Love Poem

Tamim Barghouti comes from a household of poetry and literature, the song of a Palestinian man and an Egyptian woman came to become one of the most prolific young Arab poets in this era. From competing on the popular poets contest Ameer Al Sho'ara2, "The Prince of Poets", an Arab title that has historical significance.

No one denies that this young poet has a lot of great poems, and his best work has yet to come. He wrote poems for Palestine about the old City Jerusalem and has been writing Egypt love poems for years now. but he has been writing more poems for Egypt even since Mubarak hit the road. His ability to write poems in modern standard Arabic, Egyptian dialects is a gift that few have.

Little is known about this young man's career, he is a professor of political science (PhD in this field form Boston University) here in Washington DC Georgetown University. I actually met him few times at some Palestine related functions. He lectures now at the American University in Cairo. Tamim keeps making appearances promoting his work and we wish him look.
