Maya Diab Show: Music and TV

Maya Diab, the former member of the 4 cats band, the popular all girls band that was big in the late 90s and early 00s, has stayed away from Egyptian cinema becasue all the roles offered to her are about showing off her body...so she says no. Maya is about to release her music video in few days for her single Ibn Al Yozbashy.

I believe Maya becasue with very few exceptions--Haifa Waheb in Dokan Shihata, Cyrine Abedel Nour--Lebanese singers are used as a beauty prop to help market a movie by playing that sexy girl that wears revealing clothes. Maya has only appeared in one Egyptian movie along side funny man Hany Ramzy.

The singer, celebrity and TV persona has her own show on LBC "Heek Al Maghna" "هيك منغني", here is a clip of her show that seems to combine music karaoke style. She hosts all people including other female singers. I actually enjoyed watching the show, it's good nature fun with people who seem relaxed and out for a good time.
