In the wake of calls of a number of musicians and lyricists to boycott Amr Diab for selling his work to an Israeli media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch is Australian and he is Jewish too, but I am not sure if he is an Israeli citizen-he can be if he wanted too. My issue with Rupert is his inferior look to Arabs and Muslims, he seems to really despise the Arab people. We are not the only ones he hates, but he seems to be fixated on us.
Fox News has partnered with Rotana and Prince Alwaleed in a business venture where Fox news and its owner Rupert controls part of the Arab archive and libraries The biggest star Rotana has is the king of pop Amr Diab. Word on the street, the artists who have given Amr Diab his best songs do not ant their work to be owned by an "Israeli"
Few of those artists have issued the call including Ayman Bahjat Amar, Amr Moustafa and others. But Amr Diab is not sitting aside, he is diving in the controversy. Those are some serious allegations that could tank his career. On his Facebook account Amr Diab had this to say:
"Do not assume that because I am not working with these guys on my next project, they are not talented. But they should not turn themselves into my foes and spread rumors and allegations that attacks my patriotism." Good answer, but it settles nothing.
Still though Amr Diab has not ruled out selling out to the loon Rupert Murdoch. His press releases says nothing about this subject. So he still has to clarify where he stands on this issue. He really should not be doing business with Rupert Murdoch
In other news the head of the artists guild Eman El Bahar Darwish had this to say, "Amr Diab is innocent until proving guilty", "I am still waiting to hear his defense before penalizing him for normalization with Israelis--which is a offense." "Source"
Another poet who has been working on Amr Diab's soon to be released album, Baha eldeen Mohamed has given Amr Diab six songs on that album and he has commented on this matter, "I sell my work to Amr Diab not a production company," "We do not know the citizenship of Rupert Murdoch, if he is really an Israeli, we have a problem" ,"Being Jewish is nor and should not be a problem." While the rest of the civilized world is running away form Rupert Murdoch, the Saudi prince is rushing in to help him and giving him a piece of Arabic entertainment. Rupert thinks Arabs are violent because they marry their cousins. I think Arabs are violent because Rupert Murdoch cannot see anything else.
