Restless legs syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move one's body to stop uncomfortable or odd sensations.” - Wikipedia
Although it might cause a similar urge, the Restless Leg Syndrome we're talking about here is of a less harmful nature. It's a musical team from Austria consisting of longtime DJ and producer d.b.h and the two turntable wizards Chrisfader and Testa, who split up most of the national DJ championships between each other in the last decade and also made a name for themselves as producers. The concept behind their joint-venture is quite simple: Take an old genre of music, sample and flip it into dancefloor-ready beats, from HipHop to House.

The concept behind their joint-venture is quite simple: Take a specific genre of music, sample and flip it into danceable beats. In the case of their second EP “Dabkeh”, named after a popular Mediterranean form of line-dancing, the subject of the musical explorations is the Arab world. The three guys from RLS spent quite some time mining old vinyl or cassettes to create the tracks on this EP, in the hopes of getting some wild Dabkeh moves started on dancefloors worldwide!
This Dabkeh meets break-dancing at the Hip Hop Intersection. In this EP Restless Legs syndrome proves that modern trends allow for much wider varieties of music along certain ranges of tempo and beat patterns, they showcase a number of styles that guarantees happiness and good times. Aside from that, RLS compliments their music with graffiti artwork where their entire collection of artwork was done by the "Ashekman" Duo from Beirut
This is some hell of a global dance feat with beats that can be hot in Harlem,Chicago, Cairo, Beirut, Dubai and they are as hot in Vienna. This is how you make Arabic music hip, you mix it well with other elements, but you have to craft it perfectly. I love these guys even my friends who don't like Arabic music, think this music is groovy. I raised the volume up on the speaker and then half of my office came wanting to shake it--true story.
