My all-time favorite Saudi singer just released his album with Rotana. Abdel Majeed Abdallah, the man whose voice is match made in heaven for love songs. The Ten Sins, is the clever title of the new album with a black and white cover art.
The only time Abdel Majeed fails me is when he does Saudi songs, or songs he makes to please his fans in Saudi Arabia. No shame in making music to make the ones who love you the most, but to only do one kind of music is never a good idea. Don't get me wrong, some Saudi songs are great, they lyrics are far much better than throwaway songs in other countries, but the music does not live up to the epic lyrics.
Lasy album came from Abdel Majeed came in 2012 and it was a mini album. As far as the new album, love Taheyati, track. I also like the sheer large volume of songs--16 tracks. There are Tarab worthy songs that will make you want to chill and listen--take the music in. Confessing one's sins is never easy, it should be a brave act in a place like Saudi Arabia.
