Alaa Wardi is revisiting an old pop favorite by Algerian Cheb Khaled. He is giving it the Alaa Wardi treatment and the song is mostly in French--Alaa sang in Arabic, English, Hindi and now French. This is a classic song, arguably the biggest song recorded by an Arab artist.
A very emotional song, where romance is at every turn, and the vocal might of the original artists is hard to match. I like to think Alaa made a wonderful cover. Even the bubble sound Alaa captured so well. It's a captivating song, and I know Alaa would bring it to the attention of so many younger folks who follow his work.
As for he song, "Aïcha" is the name of an Algerian song written by the French singer songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman. The title refers to an Arabic female name. The song was originally performed by Algerian raï artist Khaled. The Arabic lyrics for the bilingual version of the song are written by Khaled. Thanks to this song my aunt Aicha sounds so cool right now.
Alaa keeps raising the bar and reaching back in time to bring back some memories of songs we have loved. this song was a universal hit in 1996.
