See Hiba Tawaji celebrates the lebanese army beautiflly @hibatawaji @LebaneseArmy

The Lebanese army has many fans among the country's top artists--they artists agree on the army and their role they play to protect the motherland against all threats foreign and domestic. In fairness, they are a good group of well-meaning leaders and members. However, they are not allowed to have the top gear they want--Israel won't allow it.

Still, no reason to hate on them, they are actually a civil group--a minority in Lebanon may not see it the same way. But I am no Lebanese, I chose to pay the army respect. Here's Hiba Tawaji finds himself doing a song from they army. She is one of the intellect artists, not your average pop stars. Her messaging is important and she does have a brain big enough to realize they arm needs them to rally behind it.  

I was hoping she would do a song for Gaza, but I understand charity begins at home. Listen and watch her latest where the army is like the trees--deeply rooted. Well done Hiba, and keep up the good work guys.

Yousef Arafat - Fakrein "The Good Old Day"

The Arab Idol runner up Yousef Arafat wants to turn the page and reboot his career...he took a break. And now he is back with a new track. For the Eid, not a happy eid and not many songs came out, but I feel as a Jordanian who comes from a Palestinians heritage, he has a big responsibility.

He is singing in Egyptian and it does not serve his voice like the Lebanese dialect. This is a retro song about the past when we used to be happy and one--a long time ago. It's about unity, something that seems like a foreign concept right now. I could not tell you what the topic of the song, just longing to the good old times, like "do you remember when we used to sit and laugh together?"

Toward the middle the young vocalist tries to show some vocal muscles. This is not a terrible one, but not a great one exactly. It's one of the very few songs that came in this month. Yousef took tons of pictures for this single. The guy who lives in Kuwait and feels he has to play up his Jordanian citizenship.

Bvlgari Partners With Diva Majida El Roumi To Save The Children @majidaelroumi

The Italian jewelry and luxury goods company just partner with Lebanon's most intellectual mainstream diva Majida El Roumi. Bvlgari makes tons of money selling expensive fancy items to rich people of the world. In the process they try to do some good. As it seems in between 2009 and 2011, Bulgari donated 13 million Euros to Save The Children. By the end of 2011 the partnership was renewed. So far the donation has directly reached 334,101 children, trained 9,899 teachers and provided rehabilitation activities in 206 schools.

The company sets its sight on the Lebanese and Middle East market, they are doing this by going big in a partnership with the soft-spoken vocalist and activist Majida El Roumi. It seems she was approached by the agency to sign up onto this intuitive--she has her heart in the right place. Everybody wins indeed. The partnership is fair as both sides are pretty well-known and well-respected in the world community.

The Young, The Talented, and The Lovable @ZeytounNassif

Two extra minutes with the last winner of Star Academy, Syrian Nassif Zeytoun. Though there are so many winners, he is one of two who really took the title and did so much with it. Another winner comes to mind, Shatha Hassoun....now Syrian Nassif is pretty talented. His versatile voice allows him to do so many styles so well. from Mawal, Tarab, old and new school pop.

Watch the video sot see how many of the big names stand behind him. He is a guy with so many likes, tweets, and shares. I like him, he does sad songs like no one else in his age group can. He also has some acting chops, and a high sense of fashion. He also has the backing of a production house that has spared no expense to bring Nassif's music to a wider audience.

Nassif would be able to do a lot more had his home country been stable, and it's an issue not only in Syrian but beyond. He is a gracious young man who packs so much talent it makes him worth envying from his more seasoned peers.

A note of advise, please stay away from concerts at restaurants, you have so much more talent to be singing and competing with food. I know it has not been easy, but class is always in order. I would love to see you perform life here in the States, the Syrian and Arab community would appreciate your talent at this difficult hour.
