Lebanon has its ups and downs, but it's people always come on top. They may not have a functioning government, political unity, but they  pull together in time of need. Here's a song with a hopeful tone from some of the finest music talents in that country. Nizar Francis wrote these touching words,  Jean Marie Riachi wrote the music and their vision has been translated by the promising vocalist Abeer Nehme.

They promise a better tomorrow, hold on folks, Lebanon is timeless and is about love for generations. They remember that Lebanese passport which they carry with them wherever they go--and they really go far.  National pride is nothing new. Rise up people and vote your mind, not your heart. These songs do not make money, but they do lift up people.

Assi El Helani Sings With His Own Flesh Live in Baalbak Festival

Assi El Helani likes duets, he must have had a dozen of them. This once at the Baalbal Festival he added one more live performance but this time it was with his own daughter....Mariatta who seems to want to be a professional singer. To be fair, she is talented, she has a good voice and she can sing well in both Arabic and English.

Her live performance with her father is pretty cool, but doing a love song with her father and dancing with him live on stage may be sending the wrong message or set some people off. The song they performed was a duet between Assi and Carol Saqr, it was a hit song and I think it's one of these songs that has legacy written all over it.

I think this is one of Assi's sweetest songs, he does this style so well, but he does not do it so often--he prefers to shout in that Lebanese fashion. And yes, there is another song by Assi and a guy who sings in English Rabih Jaber, not sure what brought these two together, but it seems the fans are crazy for it. It played like a live DJ mix.

Top 10 Arabic Songs Chart By @listenarabic --Resistance Songs Clean!

Yes, now that Ramadan is behind us and the war on Gaza calms down--may God have mercy on the countless innocent souls. Here's the latest round on top ten Arabic song for the week according to the best Lebanese radio station.

Naturally this top ten lists caters to the local taster within Lebanon. I welcome Maya Nehme new track "I am Eve", then that song for Gaza and resistance by the bold Julia Boutros. Then it's always good to hear from Hicham Hajj. Rida has a new single that actually sounds fresh and worth every second.
